Hello all!! Time for some Hughes updates . . .We went to the beach AND the snow yesterday. I don't know how many places allow you to do that, but Kira sure had a great time. We started the day at the beach with the Danielson's, it was so beautiful. It actually reminded me of the beaches in Hawaii a little bit. The weather was a little overcast, about 90 degrees, with a nice breeze, the water was warm, but not too warm, and Kira had a great time collecting shells and rocks. The best part was people-watching, my favorite thing to do. It was great when all of the locals started gathering around their Shisha pipes when the sun started to go down. I've never seen so much Hookah.
Then we went to Ski Dubai at the Mall of the Emirates for Elijah's birthday. Kira was adorable in her little snow outfit, but it was almost impossible to tell one kid from the next after they were all bundled up in matching snow clothes. She had so much fun tubing, make sure you check out the pictures. She has the biggest grin coming down the snow slide, she had to have done it at least 4 times.

Hey. Happy Thanksgiving. I'm not sure if it is past turkey day there. How are you guys doing? How's Kira?
Maddy was admitted again to the hospital last thursday,she was complaining of headaches,not wanting to eat and drink. Dr Woodward order a broviac line to be placed. So no more pokes for IV's or blood draws. However she said there is nothing wrong with Maddy's shunt and if she had her way she would send her home with a GI or feeding tube and have her adjust to the pressure changes in her head. Dr. Magram(new doc) felt differently and had her scheduled for surgery on monday,but decided to try and see if diamox helped her with the headaches and eat and drink,and it did. So he said the shunt was most likely blocked again. He scheduled her for surgery on tuesday and let us go home for the holdiday.I am glad we get to be home for a few days. Talk to you soon.Take care.
